Early Entry Schemes:
Many universities have Early Entry Schemes where you can be offered a place before the normal round of offers.
The way these operate can vary from university to university, but generally they will involve you completing an application and being able to demonstrate that you are capable of succeeding in your chosen course and also that you are a good all round student who will contribute well to the life of the university you have chosen to apply for.
These have strict deadlines and cutoff times so you need to be very aware of these. As I am notified of these (as well as specific scholarships) they will be advertised on the "Scholarships" page (closing dates included) - the link to this is in the "For Students" menu above.
The application process can sometimes involve gathering quite a bit of information so you will need to make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to get this completed.
You can also get specific information on the Early Entry Schemes of every
Australian university here.
